I applaud you for following up on both this and the thread before it and for posting continuously in response to other users. There are valid criticisms which should be raised and addressed that your distracting focus on. Like, for example how basic the combat might be. Combat consists of two skills, moving (usually slow) and aiming at slow moving targets. In the case of NPC combat, we can add an added element of deflecting slow and telegraphed assaults. None of these are skill intensive and the third is just dull. The game could make use of certain things. Like blocks that don't require the use of sophisticated concepts of where your third person model (that you don't even see) is located. and instead your character acts as if they're in protection from themselves and positions their weapon or shield appropriately. A slower, more telegraphed attack that gets around blocks by blocking the blocker and causing the attacker to open them to the possibility of a follow-up. A quick step that allows you to sneak away from the slow attack. How can you exploit the opening by launching an attack? It's not too complicated mechanically but they'll all help as a way to improve combat in melee and make melee encounters less about quality of gear and more about how well you can use it. However, how are devs supposed to know that we want these things even if we're not expressing our need for them or why we're dissatisfied with the current system?
