This valve retains a conventional design of globe valve but uniquely differs with the addition of a flexible metal bellows, forming a barrier between the valve's body and environment. This assembly will prevent leakage of the fluid along the stem of the bellows to ensure that the valve is sealed even at relatively high pressure and temperatures.

When the valve works, the stem moves up or down along the flow path open and closed but the bellows compresses or expands respectively without compromising the seal. This design is particularly valuable in industries like oil and gas, chemical processing, and pharmaceuticals, in which system integrity needs to be maintained while preventing environmental contamination.

What is the difference between the bellow seal valve and gate valve?

The main differences between the two are in their design, functionality, and applications. A bellows seal valve uses a flexible metal bellows that provides a leak-proof seal along the stem of the valve; Therefore, it is quite good for dealing with hazardous or corrosive fluids and thereby preventing leakage. 

This design also allows for high pressure and high temperature and maintains integrity even under challenging conditions. In contrast, a gate valve's design is biased more to on/off flow control, with a wedge-shaped gate which moves perpendicular to the flow path. While gate valves allow very little pressure loss when open, they are not inherently leak-proof and can leak fluid along the stem if not kept in good condition.

Basically, gate valves are applied to applications that require full flow. However, in strict sealing and safety applications, bellows seal valves are commonly used.
