In the coming weeks (if not in the coming months) players are likely to hear lots of the next generation of sales forecasts, estimates and statistics regarding each of the PS4 or Xbox One. As both begin expanding into new territories and boost their post-launch stock figures it will begin becoming clearer on which "won" and what they won.

So far, we have a good idea that both we know that the PS4 along with the Xbox One sold very well in the initial 24 hours of launch and both sold more than one million units. What about sales in the next few weeks, particularly on the largest shopping day of the year specifically in the case of the PS4. in the days leading up to it's UK launch? It appears that both companies performed exceptionally well in the UK launch too.

The PS4. The Sony's UK launch was with no problems and easily set the record for the fastest-selling console in the UK region. We do not have official figures however we do know that the PS4 beat the previous record-holder which was the PSP with the PSP's 185.000 units sold.

While we've not seen any region-specific figures by Microsoft, Eurogamer suggests the Xbox One did not outsell the PSP in the UK as they state that the PS4 beat the record of the handheld but not Microsoft's. It could be because of an absence of stock of this Xbox One in the UK however it's not clear as of now.

On the software front on the software side, the PS4 launch has helped increase revenues for Call of Duty: Ghosts which again won the top spot in games sold in the UK. The next closest came FC 24. one of the largest games in the UK as well Battlefield 4 came in third. Oddly enough, Killzone: Shadow Fall only came in fourth place, despite being an PS4 exclusive.

Although Xbox One Xbox One couldn't best the PS4 in the UK but it outsold its console during Black Friday, taking a 31% portion of all hardware sales on the crucial Holiday holiday shopping time. In the United States, the Xbox 360 wasn't too far behind its Xbox One counterpart when it came to Black Friday either, taking 30 percent of all hardware sales. However, it's worth noting that Walmart offered a discounted $99 Xbox 360 bundle that likely increased sales overall.
