I am very excited for the prospect of Diablo 4
Yesterday this was confirmed on flow. It's not clear just what Diablo 4 Gold will be selling, but"decorative microtransactions" is enough to raise eyebrows in any loot-based game, just inquire Destiny, which will be always at war with its playerbase within precisely the exact same issue. Diablo 4 boasted a strong transmorg system so you might look however that did not cost anything and you wanted. But what if Diablo 4 disagrees that with paid"ornaments" or something? That...wouldn't be great. Diablo 4 began experimenting with selling various things but nothing really stuck. It's possible these microtransactions may be fine and nothing, or else they may be a step down from past games. We'll see.
That would be Josh Mosqueira, who's largely credited with being the driving force behind turning Diablo 4 about from the Reaper of Souls, Loot 2.0 era. Sure, it was a group effort, but it was under his direction, and just like so many other people, he has since left Blizzard. And should you want to go farther back, the manager of Diablo 1 and 2, David Brevik, has not been Blizzard since 2003. Diablo 4's director is Luis Barriga, who comes over from World of Warcraft and while he could be absolutely good, it does feel significant the older supervisors are nowhere to be found for this new installment.
Here's a quote about new legendary and set gear in Diablo out of Barriga:"There's a staff legendary from the demo that turns [the charm ] fireball to a triple fireball spell. The difference might be that, you knowa set at the moment in Diablo 4 gives you bonuses in the tens of thousands. I think we are designing the game now to be a little bit more constrained to avoid getting us into this super escalating power curve." I really don't want to say Diablo 4 never had any problems with power creep.
But I do worry about the concept of"restricted" legendary and set gear perks in a match like this, within this enjoyment of Diablo is going as nuts as you can with builds, and then cranking up the difficulty so large that that constrains you, not the layout of the items. Believe me, because I need buy Diablo IV Gold to be amazing I want to just be paranoid here. But on day one here, once you get past the initial hype of the presence of the game at all, I think there are some important concerns to be raised here, and I am looking forward to seeing more from Blizzard (and enjoying a closed alpha, perhaps?) Sometime shortly.
